ULAB Faculty Research Grant 2021

Office of Faculty Research (OFR) invites all full-time faculty members of ULAB to submit research intent for the Faculty Research Grant 2021. Research projects can be proposed in different areas of Science, Engineering, Public Health, Business, Environment, Arts, and Social Sciences. As per the vision and mission of ULAB, OFR encourages research projects that are interdisciplinary and have prospects for quality publications.

Please submit a short research concept (500 words approx) along with an approximate cost and timeline to Dr. Nafees Mansoor ([email protected]) by June 15, 2021.

Once your idea is shortlisted, the Research Committee (headed by the Dean of Research) will request you to write a full-length proposal detailing methodology, outcome, and budget. Please note, ULAB will award research proposals based on the following criteria:

Clear research questions and methodology

  • Publications potential
  • Collaborative potential (Does this project involve more than one investigator?)
  • Interdisciplinary and cutting-edge nature of research
  • The potential for replication of research findings (Is the output beneficial for society?)
  • Originality (Is the idea new and innovative?)

The project length can be of two variants with the following deliverables,

Project Duration: 12-Month or less


Deliverables

REPORT

  • The PI is required to provide two reports, a mid-yearly progress report and the final report. The progress report will be due on the seventh month for the one-year-long project.
  • The PI needs to provide a final report within forty-five (45) days after the completion of the Project (or such other time period specified in the Proposal) describing the methods used and results obtained together with any other pertinent findings from the Project.

SEMINAR

  • The PI will be required to organize a seminar to present research findings at the end of this project. The seminar needs to be prior to the submission of the final report.

PUBLICATIONS

  • PI ought to publish the research outcome in at least one Scopus indexed Journal (Q3/Q4). A proof of the publication is required to be submitted with the final report. As per the publication proof is concerned, a copy of the acceptance letter from the journal along with the article will be required with the final report. However, if the manuscript is in the correction phase, the PI needs to provide at least the reviewers’ feedback.
